God Doesn’t Need Mike Pence to Be Trump’s Forgiveness Intermediary

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2016/10/12/mike-pence-liberty-trump-forgive/91948768/

Mike Pence had a message Wednesday for evangelical Christians: They should forgive Donald Trump.

The Indiana governor’s plea on behalf of his running came in the wake of the Friday release of a 2005 recording in which Trump is heard, in graphic terms, discussing women and his attempts to grope them.

“As Christians we are called to forgive, even as we’ve been forgiven,” Pence said during a speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., as he proceeded to praise Trump’s handling of the matter at the recent debate in St. Louis against Hillary Clinton.

“Last Sunday night, my running mate showed humility,” Pence said at the evangelical college. “He showed what was in his heart to the American people.”

At the debate, Trump said he was “not proud” of the controversial comments. “I apologize to my family, I apologized to the American people,” the GOP nominee said. However, while explaining that he was “embarrassed” by the episode, he also dismissed the remarks, as he’s done in the days since, as “locker room talk” — a characterization that’s drawn criticism from many as minimizing what was described on the tape.

See Mike, here’s the thing. As fellow Christians, we know bone deep in our souls, each and every baptized believer has a personal, indissoluble, and independent relationship directly with God. This is a prime article of faith for all Protestants, including practicing Evangelicals. We don’t need some third party intermediary to moderate, initiate, or interpret our prayerful discussions with the Lord. God is not concerned about Locker Rooms.

We each ask for forgiveness for our personal sins directly from the Source.

Trump’s evasions and excuses include almost everything, except a simple statement that he has asked himself for forgiveness himself for his evident mistakes in 2005, then or now. He is silent on this crucial element of the story from a Christian faith perspective His continued silence is deafening.

Sorry, Mike, Trump can’t borrow your credit or substitute your faith for his lack. Trump brands himself by his own direct public witness. He is not some sort of a new Christian, or a baby Christian, or a proto-Christian.

He is a faithless Christian. Evangelicals need to consider this carefully as they decide where to cast their precious votes on November 8.

Trump Wanders On A Whim, Closely Inspecting Miss Teen USA Contestants

Four women who competed in the 1997 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant said Donald Trump walked into the dressing room while contestants — some as young as 15 — were changing.

“I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here,’” said Mariah Billado, the former Miss Vermont Teen USA.

Trump, she recalled, said something like, “Don’t worry, ladies, I’ve seen it all before.”

Three other women, who asked to remain anonymous for fear of getting engulfed in a media firestorm, also remembered Trump entering the dressing room while girls were changing. Two of them said the girls rushed to cover their bodies, with one calling it “shocking” and “creepy.” The third said she was clothed and introduced herself to Trump.

Discussion of Trump entering the room arose among the women themselves last weekend in a private Facebook group after BuzzFeed News reported that a contestant in an adult pageant said Trump had walked into the changing room when “we were all naked.” The Facebook group is open only to some former contestants in the 1997 pageant, according to several women who are in it and who described the exchange about Trump to BuzzFeed News.

Trump, who owned the Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA pageants from 1996 until last year, has publicly bragged about invading beauty queen dressing rooms, calling it one of his prerogatives of ownership.

“I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed,” Trump told Howard Stern in recordings released Saturday by CNN. “No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it. … ‘Is everyone OK?’ You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.”

Until now it was never alleged that this behavior extended to the teen pageant, in which contestants can be as old as 19 or as young as 14.

The Trump campaign and the Trump Organization did not respond to requests for comment. The Miss Universe Organization, which runs Miss Teen USA, declined to comment.

The dressing room was described by multiple contestants as one large, long, open space with 51 stations, one for each contestant, lined up against the walls. Cutting through the middle of the room were racks of clothing. Girls did not have individual partitions shielding their station from the rest of the space, and it was often bustling with stylists, pageant officials, and other crew members coming and going.

One of the other women who asked to be anonymous, who was 17, said, “At the time, you’re a teenager, you’re intimidated — it’s Donald Trump, he runs the pageant.” And it felt, she said, like “it was his given right” to enter the dressing rooms “because he owned the pageant.”

Most of the women had fond recollections of Ivanka Trump, who, they said, came into the changing room to mingle. Billado said she told Ivanka about Donald Trump entering the room while the girls were changing their clothes. Billado remembers Ivanka answering, “Yeah, he does that.”

Asked about this by email, neither the campaign nor the Trump Organization responded.

Women in the Miss Universe pageant may be naïve or calculating, but at least they were adults when Trump wandered around as they were undressed. Now it turns out Trump assumed the same Medieval droit de seigneur privileges with minor non-consenting teen aged girls. This latest catalogue of deplorable behavior is not Locker Room talk, or Trump bragging privately to Howard Stern’s libidinous mass radio audience. These were repeated actions confirmed by four flesh and blood female contestants subjected to Trump’s creepy antics, all of whom were minors in 1997.

Trump’s predations continued at least until 2005, when he was 60 years old. No wonder Trump can claim he’s never needed the little blue pill to provide artificial plumbing support.

Trump and his campaign predictably have had no time to response to jealous and unfounded rumors by haters, don’t you know. They have their collective hands full attacking a mess of cowardly and disloyal Republicans, some of whom are re-thinking their previous vows of fealty to Trump .

So, it turns out Trump was an incredibly efficient practicing teener voyeur, scoping 50 girls at a time (seven times better than The Brave Little Tailor of Grimm’s Fairy Tale legend). No excuses, no problem, and great banter when there are Bros to impress. What a studly, Man’s Man is he.

Trump has now permanently locked down the Voyeur, Creepy, and Pervy vote. He leads Clinton by more than 80% among all these groups, losing only among the pant-suit fetishist subgroup.
